Grief, Loss and Life Transitions

Grief expresses itself in a myriad of ways. Different emotions that you would not have considered to be part of grief will arise, usually at unexpected times.

There can be a wide range of triggers, such as music, someone’s voice, someone’s way of walking, an image, even body work (massage) because we store emotions in our body.

Any type of loss or transition in life can trigger grief

Even those changes that we planned and wanted.

Shifting house, separation and divorce, a new relationship, leaving a job, children leaving home, a pet dying, an illness, loss of independence.

In a session, I cannot make you feel an emotion, but when there is time allocated to being truly heard, then what needs to come up, will come up. In a session with me, this will be a safe place for you to “fall apart” if that is what is needed. And I have no judgement on whether or not emotions are felt.

What is often found, is that there are layers of grief and layers of emotions stored in the body. The mind may have tried to do away with them. This is a common strategy, simply and understandably because they are uncomfortable and you don’t wish to seen as vulnerable.

I will listen deeply to whatever you need to explain about the grief and you can be truly heard. The combination of being truly heard and allowing emotions can be very effective in giving relief. And then you can be at peace with yourself.

What Annette Helps With

Dying and Death

As humans we fear death. Because no matter what you believe or how strong your beliefs are, we don’t know what happens at death, nor do we know what comes after. It is this not knowing that generates fear. Some of us are more prone to fear the unknown than others and it shows in your life.

Dying is huge fear, as is what comes before the dying – fear of letting people take care of you, fear of loss of independence, fear of being vulnerable, fear of being exposed, fear of being out of control.

Come and talk about it in a safe compassionate place.

If you want help to complete an Advanced Care Plan, do ask. I have done training in this, can obtain the booklet for you and give you support to write it. The ACP is a legal document, signed by your doctor, which has your wishes written into it.

It is especially useful for a situation where an event happened which has left you unable to communicate. It has details such as when you want to be resuscitated and your wishes about prolonging your life. Having a plan in place can allow you to not worry about that part.

Spiritual Awakening

What is spiritual awakening? It is one of these things that has many definitions and many paths to get there. The path that I support you in is not a path! (Even though I call my business The Inner Path) It’s about stripping away the stuff that blocks you. Because that is all that is needed.

Then you can access that beautiful expansive stillness and silence that is deep inside. It’s about rediscovering who you truly are. It is not about finding yourself because you are here anyway. It is rediscovering the truth of you.

So to support you in this, we will look at the patterns and structure of thinking, emotions, believing and body sensations that are apparent in your present life.

We will examine the egoic patterns that play out in your life and in this inquiry you will learn that that is not who you are. You can then drop deeper inside. From there you can discover how and when you leave this. And what is the right action from the truth for you.

What happens in a session?

1. We begin with what is present

You do not need to arrive with the “right words” or a clear explanation. We begin with what is happening for you now.

2. You are deeply listened to

There is space to speak honestly, feel what is there and be met without judgement.

3. We explore the patterns underneath

Together, we may gently look at beliefs, emotions, memories or subconscious patterns that are influencing your current experience.

4. Hypnotherapy or guided inner work may be used

Where appropriate, Annette may use hypnotherapy, guided relaxation or inner inquiry to support deeper awareness and change.

5. You leave with more clarity

The aim is to help you feel more connected, calm and aware of your own inner truth.
