Do you make a difference in the world or would you like to?

If you do, what does this look like? How does it happen? I’d love to hear.

Or do you want to make a difference in the world – for people, animals, the environment, society – but don’t know how yet?

Then no matter what your mind says about studying, training, doing self development courses and learning………………….it won’t be enough.

You need to look inside yourself. You may think that this doesn’t matter but actually, it’s the most important, the most crucial thing you can do.

Why?…………..because you cannot change anything in the world or in other people if you have patterns that limit you in how you see things, or that mean you judge, or that mean you think you actually know what people need, or that mean that you take people’s comments and your circumstances personally.

Once upon a time, you were young and immature, your brain and mind and all parts of you developed and grew according to how you interpreted your surroundings. It was all about surviving – you could not survive on your own. Babies and young children cannot survive on their own. If there is a disruption in the physical connection you have with your mother when you are very young, then it affects your brain development. And you needed to belong, to fit in, in order to survive. So you developed strategies unconsciously to cope and you developed beliefs about yourself. And this happened in an immature brain so it’s not as though you made a calculated, rational choice about what to believe about yourself.

It’s wonderful that you want to make a difference in the world. But first you need to look inside yourself. You need to examine the strategies and self-beliefs that you have. Those patterns that helped you survive when young are still there – no-one to blame, it’s just what happens.
They are embedded in your subconscious and play out automatically. And you can’t change them by thinking or studying.

But you can develop the skill of noticing how you respond, when you judge, when you take comments personally, what triggers emotions in your body, what you avoid, how you try to get love and what types of thinking you do.

The more you notice, the more you will notice. It is not about criticising yourself and trying to change the patterns. Sometimes, just noticing can lead to something different happening.

My style of Counselling and Hypnotherapy can support you to loosen and release those old patterns. Together we get clear on a pattern or strategy that is happening and explore the emotions that arise in your body as well as the structure of your thinking. Somehow, something magical happens when we talk first, followed by being guided to relax deep inside to access the subconscious and even deeper to what is truly real and constant and quiet and expansive.

Result – there is no mind tangle about how to make a difference or even wanting to make a difference, because life will unfold effortlessly and your presence will affect others without you thinking about it.
